Well, plenty of tools to tweak are also announced...little icon to click on, and boxes to uncheck. How many people even know how to use these tools? Will grandma or the resident pre-teen even venture to clickable boxes within the profile area of their Google + accounts? No. Like the ducks being herded to the chopping block, they don't have a clue.
I am very much appalled and astonished and anxious and angry and a bunch of other a words, and even more down the alphabet about this.
It's not funny to exploit the people who work in your fields, Google. You are becoming, as I predicted several years ago, the King of the World, by virtue of cleverness and money. This is not an accomplishment so much as a crime!
Will you use my picture to advertise for Medicare, or for Sex hormones, or for Funeral plans? Will you paste it onto someone else's body? Will you quote me and put my name next to a quote that has nothing to do with the context in which I stated it?
You are getting very close to dumping the ethical people off the internet altogether (given your iron grip on every facet of it, and the dependency that has been established with your efforts. People like me will boycott you and others like you if you officially announce you will take our privacy rights away. How long will it be before your good idea becomes a criminal act?
