A Study in Short Hairs
Besides being a fabulous documentary photo, and a composition worth a dance floor, this is, in my estimateion, a really memorable piece of performance art. (The photographer should be awarded.)
The guy (who has done mutilation protest before, so is not a stranger to this spectacular sort of statement ), is protesting his opposition to "police state" style government. Would he do this just to be shocking? There must be a message here that would inspire this sort of act. Maybe Pyotr has illusions of being a Christ figure, I a thinking. Exhibitionist? Not really. He isn't signing autographs. Yet.
So, I did not put this under disgust. I might well have had it beennaked cheesecake girlies pinning nipples to something. Sex appeal has its jadedness. He really presents a dispassionate picture. Nothing but the universal pain understood the world around.
